The final stretch........
Well here we are, within a month of the bash. I remember when we first started talking about this thing last October, I wanted to have this thing a lot sooner because April was way too far away. But others felt that more time was needed to for others to plan. I reluctenly agreed. But here we are.
There were a lot of problems along the way, and many things have changed along the way like the “who’s coming” list is almost useless at this point because a large number of people wrote to say they were coming but then something happened to make it unlikely that they would.
One great thing about the delay is that there are a large number of people indigenous to the Grey Area who are coming who never heard of the mudshack.. That, to me is great.
For them this explanation follows:
We, as a group, used to frequent a room called the mudshack. The idea for the party was originally conceived there, hence the original name “Shackers Bash ”.
For one reason or another, the mudshack room ceased to exist. And The Grey Area became a place for mudshack refugees. But it didn’t take but a matter of days until the Grey Area began to form its own composition and people began to associate themselves with it rather than just being refugees from another room.
And therein lies the great part, we have not just a small group of people trying to not to lose contact with each other, but a whole new association of great people that in less than a month we will be seeing in person.
So here we go....
Hit the mail link below and send a note to let us know you are coming. I know we did this once before but you would not believe how fast things have changed with some people. That is why waiting until a month before the bash seemed realistic to get an accurate account of what is going to happen.
As the names come in, I’ll post them. I will also show who all is coming for sure and “maybes”.
